SYDNEY, Nov 19 (Reuters) - Fiji scored a consolation 2-0 win over a 10-man New Zealand on Wednesday in the final match of the Oceania qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup.

Fiji striker Roy Krishna found the net twice in the second half after New Zealand goalkeeper Glen Moss had been sent off for the visitors.

The result had no bearing on the competition as New Zealand had already sealed top spot in the Oceania qualifying division.

They advance to a two-leg playoff against the fifth-placed team from the Asian preliminaries late next year for a place in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The only time New Zealand qualified for the World Cup was in 1982. Australia have dominated the region since but moved to Asia after the last World Cup in search of better competition and direct entry.
