ABA, Nigeria, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Nigeria's Enyimba took over top spot of their African Champions League group with an emphatic 4-1 win over Sudan's Al Hilal on Monday.
Stephen Worgu returned from suspension to continue his run of goal scoring form, netting for the 13th time in this year's competition. His sixth minute goal giving Enyimba a 1-0 half-time lead.
John Owoeri, Ezenwa Otorogu and Emeka Akueme added three more goals to take Enyimba to nine points in the standings, two more than TP Mazembe Englebert of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon's Coton Sport.
Al Hilal, who equalised soon after the break through Mohamed Al Tahir, had midfielder Said Masawi sent off in the 40th minute.
Enyimba need only draw their last Group B match away at Coton Sport in Garoua on Saturday to secure a semi-final berth where they will join Egypt's Al Ahli and the Group A runners-up.
Al Hilal's second successive defeat left them bottom of the standings with five points but they still have a chance to finish in the top two and reach the last four if they beat TP Mazembe, also on Saturday.
Monday's match had been postponed 24 hours because of torrential rains in Aba.
