July 27 (Reuters) - Club Africain became the third team from Tunisia to reach the group phase of this year's African Confederation Cup, needing penalties to overcome Djoliba of Mali to reach the last eight.

Holders CS Sfaxien and last year's African Champions League winners Etoile Sahel booked their places on Saturday. It is the first time a country will have three representatives in the league phase of the competition.

The Tunisian trio are joined by Ghana's Asante Kotoko and Algeria's JS Kabylie. Angola's InterClube, Egypt's Haras Al Houdoud and Al Merreikh of Sudan are the others who have reached the group phase.
