CHICAGO, July 30 (Reuters) - Major League Soccer's Chicago Fire have signed former U.S international striker Brian McBride until the end of the 2009 season after leaving English Premier League side Fulham.

McBride, 36, has played at three World Cups and will be an over-age member in the U.S. Olympic team at the Beijing Games starting next week.

"Brian is one of the greatest strikers in American history and we are thrilled to have him be a part of our team," said Fire technical director Frank Klopas in a statement.
