Nov 27 (Reuters) - African Nations Cup hosts Angola have named Mabi de Almeida as their coach, handing him a contract until the 2010 tournament, the state-run news agency ANGOP said on Thursday.

The 45-year-old had been caretaker of the team following the resignation in October of Luis Oliveira Goncalves, who quit after Angola failed to get past the first round of Africa's qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
