Aug 20 (Reuters) - Sports news in brief from around the world:
Soccer - Lille defender Adil Rami has rejected an invitation to play for Morocco in Wednesday's friendly international against Benin, French sports newspaper L'Equipe reported.
The 22-year-old, born in France to parents of Moroccan descent, had been called up by Morocco's new coach Roger Lemerre for the match in capital Rabat.
Rami had played for France's A side against Mali in March.
Soccer - Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko is on the verge of re-signing for AC Milan after a meeting between club owners Roman Abramovich and Silvio Berlusconi, the Gazzetta dello Sport reported.
Soccer - The Bulgarian Football Union (BFU) have postponed Levski Sofia's league match at Chernomorets Burgas on Saturday to give them more time to prepare for their Champions League third qualifying round match.
Coach Velislav Vutsov resigned after Levski suffered a surprising 1-0 home defeat to Belarus's BATE Borisov in the first leg but new coach Emil Velev was confident the 25-times Bulgarian would reach the group stage.
Levski, who became the first Balkan nation team to compete in the Champions League group phase in 2006, were allowed entry despite being league runners-up last season after champions CSKA Sofia were excluded because of debts to state and creditors.
