MONTEVIDEO, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Uruguay scored two late goals to deny Colombia a morale-boosting win in a friendly international on Wednesday, Luis Suarez snatching an 86th minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw.
Striker Edison Perea scored a goal in each half to put Colombia in the driving seat.
There was a touch of fortune when Perea benefited from a favourable bounce to open the scoring but his second-half effort was a magnificent angled shot.
However, Uruguay coach Oscar Tabarez's decision to replace the ineffective Diego Forlan with Edinson Cavani changed the complexion of the game.
The young striker made an immediate impact by firing past Colombian goalkeeper Agustin Julio. Cavani almost equalised soon after before Suarez then burst through the Colombia defence and side-stepped Julio to slot in a late equaliser.
The game was a part of the teams' preparations for the next round of South American 2010 World Cup qualifiers, beginning in June.
