Jan 2 (Reuters) - Senegal captain Lamine Diatta has quit Besiktas after reaching a financial agreement with the Turkish club.

"I wanted to leave for personal reasons. Besiktas were opened to discussion and we reached a financial agreement," the 32-year-old defender was quoted as saying on the Web site of Sport daily L'Equipe (www.lequipe.fr).

After spending a few days with his family near Bordeaux, Diatta will join Senegal's national team on Tuesday to train for the African Nations Cup which runs from January 20 to February 10 in Ghana.
