LONDON, Oct 26 (Reuters) - Liverpool's title credentials go under the microscope at Stamford Bridge on Sunday when they face Luiz Felipe Scolari's flying Chelsea side.
Only goal difference separates the clubs at the top of the Premier League but Chelsea will start big favourites to open up some daylight in the title race, especially as Liverpool are without striker Fernando Torres.
The Blues, who hope to have left back Ashley Cole back from injury, are unbeaten for 86 league matches at home and according to midfielder Frank Lampard they are reaching the heights of the early days of former coach Jose Mourinho's reign.
"It is the sort of football I've always wanted to play," Lampard said on Chelsea's website. "The first year under Jose Mourinho we were fantastic, I think it gets taken for granted how good we were that year.
"That was something special and there is a similar feeling now although we are playing a different type of football."
Elsewhere in London, fourth-placed Arsenal take on West Ham United while Tottenham Hotspur's search for a first victory of the season continues at home to Bolton Wanderers.
