LONDON, July 15 (Reuters) - Chelsea's Didier Drogba and defender Jose Boswinga both had their UEFA suspensions reduced by a match on Wednesday following an appeal by the Premier League club.
A statement on the UEFA website (www.uefa.com) said Drogba will now serve a five-match suspension, the last two of which will be deferred for a probationary period of three years.
Portugal right-back Boswinga will be suspended for three matches, with the last also being deferred for the same period.
Ivory Coast international Drogba was punished for harassing Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo after last season's Champions League semi-final away-goals defeat to Barcelona.
Boswinga faced action following post-match comments made after the 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea had also originally appealed against the 100,000 pound ($163,900) fine UEFA imposed for improper player conduct and the throwing of missiles by their supporters, but the fine remains after the London club withdrew the appeal.
