BARCELONA, Sept 5 (Reuters) - Andorra defender Ildefons Lima said his team respected England but were not afraid of facing them in Saturday's World Cup qualifier at the Olympic Stadium.
Andorra, the whipping boys of European soccer, lost all 12 of their Euro 2008 qualifiers, including 5-0 and 3-0 defeats by England, and started their World Cup qualifying campaign with another loss last month when they went down 3-0 in Kazakhstan.
But Lima told reporters at a news conference on Friday: "We respect the England players and we know all about them but we are not afraid of them.
"We have to play against important teams, like Italy, England, Spain and Germany, and what happens, happens. It will not be the first time we play against big players and it will not be the last."
Andorra frustrated England last time they met 17 months ago at the same venue during the European qualifiers, holding them 0-0 at halftime before finally losing 3-0.
FRUSTRATED FANS
England were booed by their own frustrated fans and there was little love lost between the teams at the end of a game in which Andorra played very physically.
Coach David Rodrigo said he would be delighted if they could hold England for 90 minutes and make them angry again.
"We obviously respect the superiority of the England team before the match but they have to demonstrate it on the pitch," he said. "They will have to show they are superior.
"They need a victory and all the pressure is on them. It is like they have 100 weapons and we have 10 but we will use what little we have to try and pressure them at the start of the match and see what happens.
"It will be like a chess match and we use what little we have to play with."
Rodrigo added, however, that his team could not afford to make a single mistake in the game.
"If one thing goes wrong for us it could be fatal. England can make a mistake and come back, we need to play at 100 percent."
