Feb 3 (Reuters) - Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has escaped a three-game ban after his red card against Liverpool was overturned.

"At an independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, a claim for wrongful dismissal from Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard was upheld," the FA said on its website.

Lampard was shown a red card for a tackle on Xabi Alonso after an hour of their 2-0 Pemier League defeat by Liverpool on Sunday, although it appeared to have been a fair challenge.
