LONDON, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Alex McLeish has quit as Scotland's national team coach, the Scottish Football Association said on Tuesday.

McLeish, who guided Scotland as they fell just short of qualifying for next year's European Championship, resigned the position with immediate effect, the Scottish FA said. He has been linked with the vacant manager's post at Birmingham City.
