PARIS (Reuters) - Arsenal captain William Gallas will be sidelined for three weeks with a groin injury, the Premier League club said on Monday.
Gallas has consequently pulled out of the France squad for Wednesday's friendly against Slovakia.
"He has seen the medical staff and is now back in London. He is out for the game," France spokesman Yann Le Guillard told Reuters.
The defender was hurt in a challenge by Roque Santa Cruz during Arsenal's 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.
"He will be out for three weeks," manager Arsene Wenger told the club's official Web site (www.arsenal.com).
