LONDON, March 14 (Reuters) - Liverpool central defender Daniel Agger will miss the rest of the season with a foot injury, the Premier League club said on Friday.
Manager Rafael Benitez said the Dane, who has not played since September, will have surgery on a metatarsal injury next week.
"It's a blow for Daniel but we want to get his problem sorted," Benitez told the club's Web site (www.liverpoolfc.tv).
"We have defensive cover and Martin Skrtel is playing very well. Daniel will be back for next season."
