LONDON, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Scottish Premier League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle have suspended midfielder Richie Hart after he was found guilty of possessing cocaine.

The 29-year-old was arrested in June while attending a festival in the Scottish Highlands.

"We can confirm that following Richie Hart pleading guilty to a criminal offence concerning a controlled substance, Mr Hart has been suspended from playing and training until further notice," a club statement read on Wednesday.

"The club would like to reassure the club's commercial partners, supporters and public that we adopt a very firm stance in relation to the use and possession of drugs."

Hart, who was fined 300 pounds ($612.9), has been a regular in the Inverness squad since 2002 but has only made one substitute appearance this season.
