LONDON, July 9 (Reuters) - Portsmouth have agreed personal terms with England striker Peter Crouch and he will complete his transfer from Liverpool subject to his passing a medical, the south coast club said on Wednesday.

The clubs had already agreed an undisclosed fee for the lanky 27-year-old, who spent nine months at Portsmouth in the 2001/02 season.

The club's Web site (www.portsmouthfc.co.uk) said that Crouch was expected to undergo his medical within the next 48 hours.

Crouch struggled to hold down a regular first-team place at Liverpool last season and wanted to move to enhance his England chances.

He has scored 14 goals in his 27 international appearances but over the past year he has generally had to be satisfied with a place on the bench.
