LONDON, Dec 2 (Reuters) - Manchester United face a tough but familiar trip to in-form Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup after they were paired in one of four all-Premier League ties that came out of the bag in Sunday's draw.

It was the fourth time in six years that the two teams were drawn together in the third round, with United, who have won the Cup on a record 11 occasions, winning all three previous games by a single goal.

The three other top-flight ties were Tottenham Hotspur against Reading, Sunderland v Wigan Athletic and West Ham United v Manchester City.

Chelsea, who beat Manchester United in last season's final, will begin their defence of the trophy at home to west London neighbours Queens Park Rangers, while Arsenal face an awkward trip to championship (second division) side Burnley.

Liverpool, who came from 3-1 down to beat Luton Town in the third round in 2005 before going on to win the trophy, will face them again if the championship side can overcome Nottingham Forest in a delayed second-round tie.

There could still be an all-minor league tie as Havant and Waterlooville, who upset Notts County on Saturday, were drawn against Horsham or third division Swansea, who drew 1-1 on Friday.

The third-round games will be played over the weekend of Jan 5/6. (Reporting by Mitch Phillips, editing by Rex Gowar)
