LONDON, July 17 (Reuters) - Wigan Athletic confirmed on Thursday that Sweden international Andreas Granqvist has joined Dutch club Groningen.

The 23-year-old defender joined Wigan from Helsingborg but found his opportunities limited in the Premier League last season under manager Steve Bruce and returned to Helsingborg on loan.
