GLASGOW, Aug 16 (Reuters) - Rangers beat Hearts 2-0 with goals from new signing Kyle Lafferty and Kris Boyd in Saturday's Scottish Premier League clash.

They took the lead when Lafferty fired his first goal for the club in the 38th minute after team mate Lee McCulloch had swiped and missed the ball.

Hearts' hopes of salvaging a point evaporated when they had Lithuanian striker Saulius Mikoliunas sent off for his second bookable offence.

In stoppage time Boyd blasted in a penalty kick to wrap up the game.

Hibernian beat Falkirk 3-2 with striker Colin Nish grabbing a first half double to help set up the victory. Motherwell lost 1-0 at home to Aberdeen with Charlie Mulgrew getting the goal.

St Mirren drew 0-0 with Kilmarnock and Hamilton Academical won 1-0 at Inverness Caledonian Thistle with a Richard Offiong goal.

Champions Celtic are at Dundee United on Sunday .
