LONDON, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb is unlikely to feature in the league leaders' Premiership game at Newcastle United on Wednesday evening because of hamstring and Achilles problems.
The Belarus international limped off with a gash to his Achilles tendon after a reckless challenge from Aston Villa striker John Carew, earning the Norwegian a yellow card.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said: "He had a kick on his achilles" adding: "He had a hamstring problem before but we decided to play him. He had a little recurrence and I am not sure he will be available"
Arsenal are already without Dutch striker Robin van Persie, Cesc Fabregas and Abou Diaby with Wenger voicing his concerns saying "My worry at the moment is that we lose players in every game, I hope we'll get them back soon" (Writing by Tom Spaven, editing by Martyn Herman)
