LONDON, Dec 3 (Reuters) - Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is unlikely to be making any new signings in the January transfer window after he hinted that his side do not always benefit from it.
"I think the squad is good enough" he said on Monday. "We do not always get great joy in January. It takes time for players to settle in."
"Look at what happened with Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic" he said, referring to the defenders' uneasy start to their Old Trafford careers after signing in the transfer window in 2006.
The two have, however, since gone on to become key members of the Premier League champions' first team, but despite the pair's emergence, Ferguson suggested that cover might be required in one or two positions at the back.
"Maybe we are short of cover in the left-back area now Gabriel Heinze has left, but other than that, we are okay" he said.
