July 9 (Reuters) - Aston Villa have agreed to sign Chelsea's Steve Sidwell subject to a medical within the next 24 hours, the Premier League club said on its website (www.avfc.co.uk).

Sidwell, 25, joined Chelsea on a free transfer in May 2007 from Reading and failed to score in 15 league appearances, his only goal for the club coming in the League Cup.
