VIENNA, June 26 (Reuters) - Spain, playing classy soccer in the pouring rain, hammered Russia 3-0 to advance to the final of Euro 2008 with second half goals from Xavi, Daniel Guiza and David Silva.
The Spanish, who had beaten Russia 4-1 in the group stage, dominated the semi-final encounter with their swift inter-passing game and deservedly went ahead in the 50th minute when Xavi volleyed home a cross from Andres Iniesta.
Daniel Guiza, who had come on as a substitute only four minutes before, netted the second from close range in the 73rd and Silva slotted home the third in the 82nd.
Spain will play Germany in the final in Vienna on Sunday.
