LONDON, Nov 24 (Reuters) - Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas will replace William Gallas as Arsenal captain, manager Arsene Wenger said on Monday.

Wenger left Gallas out of Saturday's 3-0 defeat in their Premier League match against Manchester City after the French defender made critical comments about his team mates.

Wenger told a news conference French defender Gallas would play in Tuesday's Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev.

"He will play against Kiev, Cesc Fabregas will be the captain," Wenger said.
