LONDON, Oct 17 (Reuters) - Bolton Wanderers have parted
company with manager Sammy Lee after less than six months by
mutual consent, the Premier League club said on Wednesday.
General manager Frank McParland has also left the club.
"This has been a difficult decision for all parties but we
have agreed that time is right," Bolton's chairman Phil Gartside
said in a statement on the club's Web site,
www.bwfc.premiumtv.co.uk.
"Sammy has played an important role in the club's recent
history. We wish Sammy and Frank well for the future," Gartside
said.
"Our efforts will now be to look for a replacement manager
and to concentrate on the future. The club will be making no
further comment at this moment in time."
Former Liverpool and England international Lee was promoted
from assistant manager at the end of April following the sudden
departure of Sam Allardyce, who is now at Newcastle United.
But his position has been under threat this season with
Bolton second from bottom in the league on five points from nine
games. In contrast, Bolton have reached the group stage of the
UEFA Cup where they have been drawn with former European
champions Bayern Munich.
