LONDON, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Wigan Athletic striker Emile Heskey has a suspected broken bone in his foot after limping off nine minutes into his side's 1-1 Premier League draw with Fulham on Saturday.
Heskey, who has just earned rave reviews for England in their Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Russia after being recalled for the first time since Euro 2004, was undergoing scans in hospital.
"We're waiting for him to come back from the hospital," Wigan boss Chris Hutchings said on the club's Web site (www.wiganlatics.premiumtv.co.uk).
"He rolled over on his ankle but we don't know the extent of the damage yet. The scans could show it is a metatarsal but we don't know yet, we hope it isn't.
"It's very disappointing for him, especially after the week he's had."
