Tottenham sign Croatia defender Corluka from Man City

LONDON, Sept 1 (Reuters) - Croatia defender Vedran Corluka has left Manchester City for Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, City's website (www.mcfc.co.uk) said on Monday.

The 22-year-old right back, who had handed in a transfer request, joins fellow Croatia international Luca Modric at Tottenham following his move from Dynamo Zagreb.

Corluka, who also moved to England from Dynamo in 2007, made 41 appearnces for City and played in every one of Croatia's matches at the European championships this year.

"I am delighted to be here because I am coming to a big club with great players, great ambition and also my best friend (Luka Modric) is here so it is a very happy day for me," Corluka told Tottenham's website (www.tottenhamhotspur.com).

Neither club disclosed the transfer fee or the length of Corluka's contract.
