May 10 (Reuters) - An injury time goal from midfielder David Noble gave Bristol City a 2-1 away victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the first leg of their Championship (second division) playoff semi-final on Saturday.
With the game in added time Noble picked up the ball and struck a long range right foot shot in to the top corner to give his side a slender advantage ahead of the second leg on Tuesday.
Earlier Louis Carey had given City the lead in the 53rd minute converting a well worked free-kick only to give away a penalty with three minutes of normal time remaining. Palace midfielder Ben Watson converted for Neil Warnock's side only for Noble to snatch victory in injury time.
