Manchester City sign Zabaleta and Berti

Aug. 31 (Reuters) - Premier League club Manchester City have signed defenders Pablo Zabaleta and Glauber Berti from Espanyol and FC Nuremburg, the club announced on their website (www.mfc.co.uk) on Sunday.

Zabaleta, 23, won a men's soccer gold medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with Argentina and joins for an undisclosed fee on a five-year deal.

Berti, 25, who has been capped once by Brazil, has signed a one-year deal and becomes manager Mark Hughes's sixth signing.
