LONDON, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Denmark international Peter Lovenkrands has begun a one-week trial at Premier League Newcastle United, manager Joe Kinnear said.

Lovenkrands left German club Schalke earlier this season by mutual consent. The 28-year-old previously made nearly 200 appearances for Scottish club Rangers.
