LONDON, March 3 (Reuters) - Chelsea have launched an appeal against the red card Frank Lampard received in their 4-0 weekend win over West Ham United, the Football Association said.
Lampard was sent off for violent conduct after a seemingly innocuous exchange of shoves with West Ham's Luis Boa Morte.
The appeal will be held on Tuesday and if it fails Lampard will receive an automatic three-match ban that will rule him out of an FA Cup quarter-final against Barnsley and league games against Derby County and Sunderland.
