PARIS, May 1 (Reuters) - Brief news from Ligue 1 before this weekend's matches:
* Olympique Lyon are not mentally strong enough to win an eighth consecutive league title, said Olympique Lyon midfielder Mathieu Bodmer.
"It would be a miracle (to win the league). We need the two teams ahead of us to falter. Lately we have not been that good so let's just focus on ourselves," he told his club's website (www.olweb.fr).
"Mentally, we are not as strong as them. We can't find the resources to win matches as they do."
Lyon are third in the standings, six points adrift of leaders Olympique Marseille and four behind Bordeaux, with five matches remaining.
* Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan will miss Stade Rennes's trip to Paris St Germain because of an ankle injury, his team said on their website (www.staderennais.fr).
* Olympique Marseille coach Eric Gerets hopes Brazilian defender Vitorino Hilton, who is suffering from a thigh injury, will be fit for Saturday's home game against Toulouse.
"It would be a pity if he could not be there because right now it is not easy to replace him," Gerets told reporters.
* Lille coach Rudy Garcia is confident Brazilian midfielder Michel Bastos will be back to his best when his team travel to Lorient on Saturday.
"I know that he will do great things again this season," Garcia told L'Equipe's website (www.lequipe.fr).
Lille, who lost their last two league games, are sixth in the standings, 11 points adrift of leaders Marseille.
* Girondins Bordeaux defender Diego Placente is doubtful for Sunday's home game against Sochaux after picking up a groin injury in his team's 3-2 win at Rennes on Wednesday, Bordeaux said on their website (www.girondins.com).
The Aquitaine side are already without striker Fernando Cavenaghi and midfielders Henrique and Wendel, who are out with long-term injuries.
