MADRID, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster was accused of being arrogant by the Spanish media when he compared his side to Roger Federer earlier this week, saying they toyed with their opponents before putting them to the sword.
The German had every right, however, to be conceited after his side almost notched up a tennis score with their 5-1 demolition of Valencia on Wednesday and Real are now looking to follow that up with another win against Sevilla on Saturday.
"It was a potentially difficult away match and we've got another one against Sevilla," said midfielder Guti.
"This win will give us the confidence to make us believe we can win in Seville. People were saying before this match that we weren't playing well but in the big games and away from home the results have been very positive and that makes us much happier."
Sevilla crushed Valencia 3-0 last weekend in their first game since the departure of Juande Ramos for Tottenham Hotspur, but they came off second best on Wednesday against a rejuvenated Atletico Madrid.
"It was a spectacular match for the fans, but when you score three goals you get the feeling that you should have come away with at least a point," said coach Manolo Jimenez.
HIGH-FLYERS
Sevilla were without Frederic Kanoute for the Atletico match but the Mali international could be back for Saturday's game to partner Luis Fabiano, who took his tally to six goals in four games with his double in Madrid.
The pair scored four goals in their side's 6-3 aggregate win over Real in the Spanish Super Cup at the start of the season but are unlikely to find such easy pickings this time round.
Atletico take on fellow high-fliers Villarreal in an appetising clash at the Calderon on Sunday, but Uruguay striker Diego Forlan may miss out against his old side after suffering a muscle strain in the win over Sevilla.
Real Betis coach Hector Cuper finds himself under heavy pressure ahead his side's visit to Barcelona on Sunday.
Fans were calling for the Argentine to be axed after the team slumped to a morale-sapping 3-0 defeat at home to Osasuna on Wednesday.
