TURIN, Jan 14 (Reuters) - Juventus booked their spot in the Italian Cup quarter-finals with an easy 3-0 home win over Catania on Wednesday.

Right winger Marco Marchionni scored from close range on four minutes after visiting goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri had made a mess of saving Alessandro Del Piero's header.

Juve, who host Napoli in the quarter-finals next month, went 2-0 up midway through the second half when Sebastian Giovinco finished off a fine move and Del Piero soon added a classy third.

Coach Claudio Ranieri fielded a majority of first teamers but Turin's Stadio Olimpico was largely empty of fans given the bitterly cold weather and the lack of passion for the cup.

Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon played his first competitive game after three months out with a leg injury.
