LISBON, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Benfica returned to the top of the Portuguese Premier League after a 1-0 home win over Braga while Porto were held to a 0-0 draw by struggling Trofense at the Dragao stadium on Sunday.
Benfica are top on goal diference with 29 points from 14 matches alongside Sporting, who beat Maritimo 2-0 on Saturday. Porto are third on 28.
Brazilian defender David Luiz notched thw winning goal for Benfica on the stroke of halftime with a glancing header from a freekick by Argentine midfielder Pablo Aimar.
