AMSTERDAM, May 31 (Reuters) - Forward Ryan Babel has been ruled out of the Dutch squad for Euro 2008 after suffering an ankle injury in training on Saturday, the Dutch FA (KNVB) said in a statement.

It said coach Marco van Basten had called up Khalid Boulahrouz to replace the injured winger.

Van Basten dropped the Sevilla defender earlier this week when he named his final squad for the Euro finals.

Babel tore ankle ligaments during training in the Dutch village of Hoenderloo.

The Netherlands are in Group C along with France, Italy and Romania for the June 7-29 tournament in Austria and Switzerland.
