LISBON, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Portuguese premier league club Braga have fired coach Jorge Costa after a string of poor results, the club said on their Web site (www.scbraga.com) on Tuesday.
Club officials would take over coaching duties until a successor was found, they said.
Costa, a former international defender, was the fourth managerial casualty in the top flight this season.
Braga, who drew 1-1 with Naval on Monday, are seventh in the 16-team standings with 11 points from eight matches.
They drew 1-1 with Bolton Wanderers in their opening Group F in the UEFA Cup last week.
