MADRID, Oct 30 (Reuters) - Valencia are aiming to recruit a big-name coach to take charge of the team following the sacking of Quique Sanchez Flores.
"Our objective is to sign a prestigious, top-level coach that has won things and has the necessary charisma to take charge of Valencia," the club's sporting director Miguel Angel Ruiz was quoted as saying in sports daily Marca on Tuesday.
"Of course, the coach has to want to come to Valencia but I don't think there are too many coaches who would turn their nose up at the prospect of coaching Valencia.
Italy's World Cup-winning coach Marcello Lippi, Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, PSV Eindhoven boss Ronald Koeman, Didier Deschamps and former Real Madrid coaches Vicente del Bosque and Fabio Capello have all been linked with the job.
Caretaker boss Oscar Fernandez took charge of the team on Monday and will sit on the bench for Wednesday's league match against Real Madrid at the Mestalla.
