MADRID, June 18 (Reuters) - Sevilla have signed Spain defender Fernando Navarro from Real Mallorca on a five-year contract, the Primera Liga club said on Wednesday.
The left back, who turns 26 next week, will help fill the space left by the death Sevilla's Antonio Puerta at the beginning of last season.
Navarro came up through the Barcelona youth ranks before joining Mallorca in 2005 where he has been a fixture on the left side of their defence.
Spanish media reported the player would be moving for a fee of around five million euros ($7.74 million).
Navarro is Sevilla's second signing of the close season after Argentine midfielder Lautaro Acosta.
