BERLIN, Aug 17 (Reuters) - Hanover 96 came from behind to win 2-1 at promoted Karlsruhe and claim their first points of the Bundesliga season on Friday.
Karlsruhe, 2-0 winners at Nuremberg last weekend, looked set to make it two wins from two back in the Bundesliga when they took the lead with a Maik Franz header from a free kick eight minutes before the break.
They had chances to add to their lead before Hanover hit back in the 55th minute with what was a near-perfect copy of the first goal. Arnold Bruggink curled over a free kick from the right and Mike Hanke found space to head home. Hanover grabbed the winner 15 minutes from time when Hanno Balitsch finished off a swift move on the break.
Bayern Munich travel to Werder Bremen on Saturday, while Schalke 04 host Borussia Dortmund in the big Ruhr Valley derby. Champions VfB Stuttgart go in search of their first win away to Hertha Berlin in another of Saturday's games.
