SALZBURG, June 17 (Reuters) - Spain coach Luis Aragones is unaware of any agreement to coach Turkish side Fenerbahce next season but said on Tuesday that his agent was trying to secure him a job as a club coach.
"I have an agent who is working on things because it is known that I'm stepping down after Euro 2008," the 69-year-old told a news conference ahead of his side's final Group D against Greece.
"I heard some talk linking me with America de Mexico before. But right now I can't say anything more than that. If I knew anything more I would tell you."
Spanish sports daily Marca said on Tuesday that Aragones was close to signing a two-year deal with the Turkish club.
Fenerbahce are looking to sign a new coach after failing to reach a deal with former Brazilian international Zico.
Zico, who took charge at Fenerbahce in July 2006 after coaching the Japanese national team, led the Istanbul club to the Champions League quarter-finals this season but lost out to city rivals Galatasaray in the domestic title race. (Editing by Jon Bramley)
