July 15 (Reuters) - Juventus have said attempts to buy Liverpool's Xabi Alonso and Inter Milan's Dejan Stankovic are over after their purchase of Sevilla midfielder Christian Poulsen on Monday.

"We will not make any other buys. We have opted for the Dane because we have a very strong attack and needed a wall in the midfield," Juve chairman Giovanni Cobolli Gigli told reporters.
