MADRID, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Real Sociedad are investigating coach Chris Coleman's late arrival at a news conference on Friday, amid media reports he was seen in a local nightclub in the early hours of the morning.
Journalists were kept waiting an hour and a half for his weekly conference. When he arrived Coleman apologised for the delay, saying he had a flood at his flat.
"No one likes these matters. Logically you aren't happy and that's why an investigation has been opened," Sociedad sporting director Salva Iriarte told a news conference. "But we are all human and everyone is allowed to make a mistake every now and then.
"This does not affect our confidence in the sporting project here and I am happy with his work. For me the matter is closed. The coach has 10 days to respond and then it is the board who will take a decision."
The former Welsh international took charge after Sociedad were relegated from the Primera Liga last season. They are 13th in the 22-team second division.
