MILAN, June 1 (Reuters) - Bologna won promotion to Italy's top flight on Sunday after beating Pisa 1-0 at home in Serie B's final round of matches.
The seven-times Italian champions return to Serie A after a three-year absence having held off the challenge of Lecce, who won 1-0 against Vicenza to finish a point behind in third.
Chievo Verona, who clinched promotion last weekend, secured the Serie B championship by drawing 2-2 at home to Bari.
Lecce must now enter a four-team playoff with Albinoleffe, Brescia and Pisa to determine the final promotion place.
Bologna are the subject of takeover interest from an American consortium, club president Alfredo Cazzola said recently.
