WARSAW, June 1 (Reuters) - Uninspired Poland missed a penalty but forced a 1-1 draw with Denmark on Sunday in Chorzow in their final friendly before their first Euro 2008 finals appearance.

Denmark's Martin Vingaard opened the scoring in the 28th minute, tapping in a rebound from a metre after a shot by Nicklas Bendtner was deflected by Poland keeper Artur Boruc.

Poland levelled in the 42nd minute, Ebi Smolarek's shot from a pass by captain Maciej Zurawski was deflected before being lobbed in by Jacek Krzynowek.

The Poles should have scored earlier but Zurawski's penalty was saved.

Sunday's draw followed last week's disappointing 1-1 friendly draw against Macedonia and an uninspiring 1-0 win over Albania.

"A win should not make us euphoric and a loss shouldn't plunge us into despair because this is just a trial run," Poland coach Leo Beenhakker cautioned before the match.

"The important thing is to avoid suffering any injuries ahead of our encounter with Germany."

Poland, who are co-hosting Euro 2012 with Ukraine, launch their European Championship finals debut against Germany on June 8 in Klagenfurt, Austria.

Poland are in Group B at Euro 2008 with co-hosts Austria, Germany and Croatia.
