LONDON, July 31 (Reuters) - Bayern Munich's France midfielder Franck Ribery is likely to undergo another operation on his ankle on Friday, the club said on its website (www.fcbayern.de).
Ribery damaged ankle ligaments during France's 2-0 defeat by Italy at last month's Euro 2008 and had an operation shortly afterwards. This week's operation is to remove a screw inserted during the previous surgery. He hopes to be fit in September.
