STENUNGSUND, SWEDEN, May 24 (Reuters) - Sweden forward Markus Rosenberg suffered a knee injury in training on Saturday although coach Lars Lagerback said it was too early to say if he would miss next month's Euro 2008 tournament.

"He went up quite high for the ball and when he landed on his left leg he felt pain in the knee," Lagerback told a news conference. "Now we can only wait and see what the x-rays show."

Rosenberg was helped off the field at the squad's training camp on Sweden's west coast and taken to hospital.

Lagerback said it was "impossible to speculate" on whether Rosenberg, a regular starter with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, would be able to play the championship but added that he hoped the striker could return to training in a few days.

Asked if Groningen's Marcus Berg was next in line to replace Rosenberg in the squad, Lagerback said: "We will wait to see how things are with Markus before we deal with that. So far, he (Rosenberg) is still in the squad."

Sweden face European champions Greece, Spain and Russia in Group D at the finals, which are being co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland and kick off on June 7.
