CELJE, Slovenia, Nov 21 (Reuters) - Bulgaria beat 10-man Slovenia 2-0 in their last Euro 2008 Group G qualifier thanks to late goals by Blagoy Georgiev and Dimitar Berbatov on Wednesday.

Midfielder Georgiev struck in the 81st minute and striker Berbatov added a second goal three minutes later to secure all three points although both teams had already been eliminated.

Slovenia played out the entire second half with 10 men after Bojan Jokic was sent off in the 45th minute for dangerous play.

"The defining moment of the match was when we lost a player at the end of first half..." said Slovenia head coach Matjaz Kek. "We played relatively well in the second half, however we didn't know how to finish our chances." Already-qualified Romania thrashed Albania 6-1 on Wednesday and finished top of Group G with 29 points, three points ahead of the Netherlands, who lost 2-1 in Belarus but were already assured of the second qualifying place for next year's finals.

Bulgaria ended the campaign in third spot with 25 points, while Slovenia finished in sixth place with 11 points. (Reporting by Manca Ulcar; Editing by Ken Ferris)
