ROTTERDAM, Netherlands, Oct 24 (Reuters) - Feyenoord secured a scrappy 1-0 home victory over VVV Venlo to climb to fourth in the Dutch league on Saturday.

Feyenoord, without suspended strikers Sekou Cisse and Jon Dahl Tomasson, opened the scoring through midfielder Denny Landzaat on 27 minutes following a pass by striker Roy Makaay.

Twente Enschede, who host Groningen on Sunday, are top with 26 points after 10 matches, two more then PSV Eindhoven who travel NEC Nijmegen.

Ajax Amsterdam, away at AZ Alkmaar, are third with 23 points, level by Feyenoord.

Sparta Rotterdam completed their second win in a row by beating ADO Den Haag 3-2 with Erik Falkenburg scoring a hat-trick, the decisive goal coming three minutes into stoppage time. (
